The Relative Viscometer is available for order in four configurations with increasing levels of automation: Manual, Autosampler, Semi-Automation, and Full Automation. The attributes of each packages are summarized on this page, and further details are given on the individual package pages. The table below summarizes the level of automation provided by each package:

The Manual package offers automated sample injection of a single vial by the syringe pump and the data recording by the Data System. All other tasks associated with sample preparation and moving the sample needle between multiple vials must be done manually.
The Autosampler package introduces an autosampler that will interface with the Data System and the single syringe pump to automatically move the sample needle among multiple vials in a sample sequence.
The Semi-Automation package introduces an analytical balance and a dual syringe pump. The Data System will interface with the balance to assist with the weighing of the sample. The Data System will also instruct the dual syringe pump to dispense the appropriate amount of solvent to reach the desired polymer concentration. The operator must dissolve the sample manually by providing stirring and/or heating for the appropriate amount of dissolution time.
The Full Automation package replaces the Autosampler with a Vortex Autosampler to automate the dissolution of the sample. The Vortex Autosampler is capable of heating and stirring the sample and the Data System keeps track of the dissolution time. The Full Automation package only needs to operator to weigh the sample and enter the appropriate parameters for polymer concentration, dissolution temperature, and dissolution time. The remainder of the tasks are carried out automatically.
The table below lists the components that are included in each package:
